The Most Dangerous Permission You May Have Given

    chormes

We have talked about security on Yathit Blog before. This time, we want to talk about extension developers’ design choices, discuss trade-offs between security and ease of use and implementation costs. Chrome Extensions are very powerful tools and this kind of power comes with responsibility that falls on both the developers and the users. The user of Chrome extensions have the final say which extensions to be used, considering its usefulness and permissions.

    Yathit’s Compliance with GDPR

    road-to-gdpr

The European Union loves regulations! The EU regulates nearly every aspect of its citizens’ lives through directives and laws issued by European Commission and rubber stamped by the EU parliament. The General Data Protection Regulation or GDPR is one of the most sweeping laws issued by a regional government as its effects sent ripples throughout the World. The law came into existence in 2016 to go into full effect in 2018.

    Hardening SugarCRM Security with CSP

One of the common problems that SugarCRM shares with other PHP-based applications is a vulnerability to Cross-site Scripting (XSS). The fact that cross-site scripting, which is also known as XSS is a common attack, similar to SQL injection, does not make it less dangerous. A malicious script injected via XSS can potentially compromise all aspects of our business information security – confidentiality, integrity and availability of information we rely on. A SugarCRM professional may simply refer to a button that says “Remove XSS” on the admin portal. Unfortunately, if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is!

Improving CRM User Experience with browser database

    crm-super

Many salespeople hate dealing with CRM software. It is often slow to retrieve important customer information and difficult to navigate. The sales personnel has to deal with a multitude of links and buttons, prompting the users to click in excess and being unable to retrieve important client info [1]. Unlike installed software, browser based apps process the information that is heavily dependent on URL-enabled links. In addition, the client application has to process large volumes of data received from the server.

About a decade ago, Google succeeded as a major Web platform, the company developed a number of apps by heavily relying on client’s processing ability or browser’s ability to process a large amount of data. Modern app developers continue chasing the web app technology magic, but neglect browser database technology [2] that powers such popular Google apps as Gmail, Google Docs, Google Sheets, Photo, etc.

    Client-Side Modifications for SugarCRM

    Advance UI

SugarCRM/SuiteCRM developers and administrators love working with this versatile software! The software’s wide usage, source code availability and upgrades place SugarCRM professionals in high demand and present many opportunities to customize the software. Unfortunately, there is a dark side to our professional niche. Too often, updates and fixes are hard to execute, especially when multiple modifications are involved. Server side changes involving PHP tend slow the server down and rarely achieve the UI design goals.

When your default SugarCRM/SuiteCRM modules are not enough to fulfill your requirements then we need to create our own plugin.

What if your new module still does not fit your requirement? What if you need to construct some sort of special functionality that Sugar does not provide out of the box? Then building a module manually is definitely the course of action you will need to take to accomplish your goals, and in this tutorial you’ll take a step-by-step journey on how to do this.
